Shannon Christopher Wyatt, kind-hearted person

January 6, 2021

Shannon Christopher Wyatt, 38, of Lewes passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.  He was born July 3, 1982, in Beebe Medical Center to Walter E. Wyatt II and the late Nancy Edgens Wyatt.

He graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 2000 and completed the Business Administration Program at Delaware Technical Community College.

Shannon was an extremely sensitive kind-hearted person, who had a terrific sense of humor.  His laughter was contagious and endearing, and he will be dearly missed by those who recognized those qualities in him. Shannon loved his son Liam with every ounce of his being. Unfortunately, Shannon suffered the painful loss of a couple dear friends in his life, his grandfather; and more recently, the loss of his mother, his spiritual adviser and strength.

He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Ruth Edgens of Lewes, and Edward and Edna “Eddie” Wyatt of Lewes. In addition to his father, he is survived by his son, Liam; his sister, Ashley C. Murray (Jon) of Lewes; two nephews Christian and Gabe, and a niece Oasis; his brother William “Billy” Wyatt (David) of Newark. He will be loving remembered by the Edgens family, specifically his mom’s sisters: Linda Mitchell (Pat), Patricia Gable (Bob), and Darlene Edgens; his uncles and many close cousins.  He will also be greatly missed by the Wyatts: Patricia and Marvin Mitchell of Lewes, Bonnie and Jack Warrington of Lewes, and many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Melson Funeral Services, Millsboro, on Long Neck Road.  Those who wish to pay their respects may do so during a Memorial Service Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 6 to 7 p.m.

In Shannon’s memory and as an expression of sympathy, the family would find great comfort in any contributions made to Liam’s College-Savings Fund, at PNC Lewes location.

The family would like to thank everyone for their support and the outpouring of sympathy during their time of loss.
